| i want to write more often, than i have lately. hope it works.
Somewhere between today and yesterday, they had put everything away. Every memory was clipped neatly from its space and left in a pile where it would collect dust for many years. Maybe dust of fondness, or maybe despair, maybe even of hope.
One late morning in June, he was watching a woman do her make up in the rearview mirror. He’d been waiting for traffic to move for about seven minutes and it hadn’t even given him an inch. He was starting to hate this city. The traffic, the people, even the bright lights. He wanted something more subtle now, but it wouldn’t be found anywhere near here. All these thoughts passed quickly as he accelerated and hoped to maneuver his way out of traffic. He started thinking about how fast he would drive if he could drive out of this city, his foot became heavy on the pedal and he took in the breeze from the window. He noticed the light and it suddenly struck him it was red, a woman stood doe eyed and confused in front of him for about fifteen seconds before she was sprawled across his windshield. Blood dripped down the shattered glass, and his chest went empty as he recognized her face. The face he had tried to blur in every memory so it wouldn’t be so potent to his heart. The face he’d cradled in his hands and watched sleep.
It was her.
Red lights blurred across the scene as the paramedics arrived. She gasped for breath and barely whispered, “I thought I was dreaming, when I saw you.”
The paramedics asked if he wanted to accompany her to the hospital. He hung his head and shook it to say no. She reached out and grazed his knuckles with barely a finger and said, “Don’t be so sad.”
Somewhere between today and yesterday, she had come and gone from his life. They had worked so hard to put distance between them. Now he watched as her hand fell limp right before they lifted her into the ambulance.
What a cruel joke, life had played on him.

| the seaspray leaves my skin misty. my feet in the cold water, can feel the sinking sand give way as the waves recede. a slender moon peaks through the dark blanket of the sky.
i walk alone on this shore. giving away my secrets, just like the others who have walked it before me. letting my heart drift out among the waves. what will it find.
that poor little heart that sways and crashes with the waves.

| a warm balmy night between storms, led me to believe i had fallen for you.
as the trees moved with the wind, i fell in love with the calm in your voice.
as the dark clouds passed, i fell in love with every honey word you spoke.
as the green leaves danced, i fell in love with the way you make me laugh.
as the sky became hues of purples, and blended into darkness...
i fell in love.
a warm balmy night between the storms, is when i fell in love, with you.
should i say something or just let it flow? | | |
| black lace against golden skin. her breaking heart as she commits sin. he mumbles charming promises. unaware of her wings being clipped.

| a tinge of yellow crowns the sky, all i feel is the soft sand underfoot.
if the warmth of the sun hadn't come, i might have sold my soul that night.
only the devil sits by your side, in darkness that deep.
warm honey with a pinch of salt, and i will begin again, eyes bright and heart light, hoping to keep my soul one more day.
